Terra Fatum: The Divine Destiny of the Earth
We'll throw a fresh coat of paint over the smoldering ashes, we'll fashion smokestacks out of the charred rubble to channel the smoke away from our lungs. We will hold ceremonies to laud our efforts in air conditioned assembly halls to keep the scorching heat from making us sweat. Those basking in the cool fountains no longer able to hear the taunts and jeers: "you're drowning you fool!"
As the lava begins to flow the last great assembly halls succumb to the flames; the ribbons and medals make the lava shimmer and shine. As the lava cools near the fountains the fervent heat dies down and the clearest glass begins to form. The light from the glass is refracted and bent in every direction. The heat is now gone, the glass has cooled and the light begins to fill the immensity of space.
